Davis Square Market will Reopen for the 2025 Season on Wednesday, May 21!
Located near the commercial and cultural hub that is Somerville’s Davis Square, this long-running market features over two dozen Massachusetts farmers and food producers offering a vibrant selection of delicious produce, protein, baked goods, ready-to-eat meals, alongside a host of other locally made products. This beloved weekly event takes place across from our good friends at American Flatbread in the municipal parking lot adjacent to the Davis Square Plaza. Come say hello and support your local food system!
The market accepts cash, credit/debit cards, WIC/Senior coupons, and EBT cards and offers a weekly $15 SNAP Match. SNAP users can earn additional benefits through the healthy incentives program (HIP) at the market! Spend $20 per month on fruits and vegetables at participating vendors and the money will be put back on your EBT card, this program is called HIP (Healthy Incentives Program). All SNAP users are automatically enrolled in this program. Visit the market manager’s booth to learn more or read more here.

$15 SNAP Match Program Continues in 2024
Mass Farmers Markets, producer of the Davis Square Farmers Market, is pleased to announce that the Davis Square Farmers Market will continue to offer a $15 match to all SNAP shoppers for the 2025 season.
Shoppers can swipe their SNAP or P-EBT cards for any amount at the market manager’s tent as they enter the farmers market to receive a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $15 per week at the Davis Square Farmers Market. Shoppers will receive the additional benefits as market tokens, that can be used to purchase SNAP eligible products with market vendors, including fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, honey, jam, breads, seeds and plants.
Examples of how the match works:
The shopper swipes $5 using their EBT card at the market manager’s tent, the market will match $5, and give a total of $10 worth of market tokens to the shopper.
The shopper swipes $15 using their EBT card, the market will match $15, and give a total of $30 worth of market tokens to the shopper.
The shopper swipes $25 using their EBT card, the market will match $15 since it is the maximum amount of match possible, and give a total of $40 worth of market tokens to the shopper.
This program helps individuals and families obtain the sustenance and nutrition they need during heightened levels of food insecurity due to COVID-19, as well as increase economic support for local farmers and food businesses.
The SNAP match program is made possible through a combination of funds from the City of Somerville and a Community Development Block Grant applied for via the Somerville Farmers Market Coalition. This is the culmination of several years of effort by Mass Farmers Markets to bring additional shoppers and resources to the Davis Sq market that help further make it a robust, vibrant, and profitable market. This program is a boon for shoppers and vendors alike.
