Heads Up: Kendall Square Farmers MarkET is Back at the original location at 1 Broad Canal Way

Located in the Canal District of Kendall Square—an internationally recognized innovation hub—this vibrant neighborhood is flanked by MIT, world-class biotech research facilities, and the scenic canal. The area offers unique amenities, including kayak access right at the canal’s edge, making it possible to visit the farmers market by water. Join us to explore, connect, and support your local food system.

The market is located a short walk from the Kendall/MIT T station, adjacent to the Kendall canal.

The market accepts cash, credit/debit cards, WIC/Senior coupons, and EBT cards and offers a weekly $15 SNAP Match.

In 2024 we launched a SNAP-subsidized CSA Market Box for those who want to get a taste of everything the market has to offer every week. Learn more here.

The Kendall Square Farmers Market is a Mass Farmers Market managed market. MFM is a non-profit organization that has been working to enhance farmers markets and support locally grown food for over forty years.

$15 SNAP Match Program

Mass Farmers Markets is pleased to announce that Kendall Square Farmers Market will offer a $15 match to all SNAP shoppers for the 2022 season.

Shoppers can swipe their SNAP or P-EBT cards for any amount at the market manager’s tent as they enter the farmers market to receive a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $15 per week.  Shoppers will receive the additional benefits as market tokens, that can be used to purchase SNAP eligible products with market vendors, including fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, honey, jam, breads, seeds and plants.

Examples of how the match works:

  • The shopper swipes $5 using their EBT card at the market manager’s tent, the market will match $5, and give a total of $10 worth of market tokens to the shopper.

  • The shopper swipes $15 using their EBT card, the market will match $15, and give a total of $30 worth of market tokens to the shopper.

  • The shopper swipes $25 using their EBT card, the market will match $15 since it is the maximum amount of match possible, and give a total of $40 worth of market tokens to the shopper.

This program helps individuals and families obtain the sustenance and nutrition they need during heightened levels of food insecurity due to COVID-19, as well as increase economic support for local farmers and food businesses.
