Think you can grow the best tomato in town? Join us at the Davis Square Farmers Market for our 5th Annual Youth Grown Tomato Contest! This fun, community event is open to young growers of all ages and experience levels — whether you're planting your first seed or already love gardening.

How to Participate:

  • 🌱 Pick up free tomato seeds at any Mass Farmers Markets location (available through May, thanks to Johnny’s Selected Seeds)

  • 🌿 Grow your tomato plant all summer

  • 🍅 Bring your ripest, best tomato to the market on August 5

  • ⏰ Drop off your tomato by 3:00 PM for judging

  • ⭐ Stay for the tasting and see how your tomato stacks up!

No registration required — just grow, show up, and show off your best tomato.

Open to all youth growers. Prizes, bragging rights, and plenty of tomato-themed fun await!
